As the industry has become more popular in recent years, Warner Brothers has become more aggressive in seeking to promote their films and comic books abroad.
Now known for its superhero films, it has been awarded a lucrative four-year deal with the Italian state for exclusive rights to make a series of foreign-language films — The Dark Knight Rises, The Dark Knight, and the recent Man of Steel — with hopes for more to come.
In 2012, the studio announced the first film that would be made from its movie business, the American Graffiti, but then pulled the plug on the movie. The studio later picked up American Graffiti for $12 million, which was cut from a more expensive four-year deal.
Last year, the studio announced a movie adaptation of one of its superhero properties, DC Comics’ The Dark Knight Rises, which had been pushed back from 2018 to 2020 after Warner Bros had failed to win a domestic distributor, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), for rights.
When that effort failed, the company is hoping that the DC franchise can be taken up. It recently signed a deal with DC Entertainment, in which the rights to the movie would have been available to DC Comics for a five-year exclusive. Warner Bros hopes to sell the movies in the summer of next year to promote them overseas — where they will be seen by more than 20 million overseas viewers, the studio says.
Other deals involve the release of new DC television shows, as well as Marvel-based television series.
With its recent acquisition of the comic book rights to DC Comics, the studio will bring a vast library of titles to international markets, the latest coming in the form of Star Wars: The Force Awakens — and which is expe제주출장마사지cted to do wel전주출장안마l, as the movie has already done well for Warner Bros overseas.
